The Morehouse Residential College is an integral part of becoming a Morehouse Man. Our residential community grounds our students and allows them to grow into leaders.
THE RESIDENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Morehouse College believes that students who live on-campus are more likely to stay enrolled, work toward graduating on time, and feel connected to the campus community. Research supports our belief that living on campus has several positive outcomes that help students developmentally.
Students who live on campus:
- have higher expectations for academic achievement and are more likely to remain in college,
- are more involved in campus activities and learn to work with others, manage budgets, express their ideas in meetings, negotiate, and follow through with projects,
- meet more challenges, mature more quickly, and learn to become interdependent,
- build strong friendships, share more experiences, interact more, develop more tolerance, and experience more cultural diversity,
- integrate with faculty both in the residence halls and due to closer proximity to faculty offices,
- feel that the campus is more comfortable, more educationally purposeful, more supportive, and more enjoyable yielding higher overall satisfaction with their college experience.
